Optionz is a West Midlands Sub-Regional Supported Accommodation Framework approved provider of accommodation and support offering fully furnished accommodation and support to 16-18 year olds who are leaving care or are at risk of being homeless. The provision assists young people in making the transition from care to independence in a planned and supportive way.

Whilst living at Optionz it is important that young people are supported in securing training or education placements that will considerably improve their chances of success and at the same time are encouraged to maintain and cultivate positive relationships and friendships to ensure they have a network of support when they move on.

Optionz Will provide:

• A high standard of care and support appropriate to the needs of the young person. An environment which promotes equality of opportunity and inclusion and one which discourages discriminatory practices
• Identity, self-respect and self-esteem work including cultural identity
• Advice and support with personal care, hygiene, health and diet to ensure a healthier lifestyle
• Support in maintaining contact with families, significant others and other positive networks
• A structured setting with clear objectives, ensuring that all residents are aware of our expectations and what will happen if things go wrong
• Support in accessing and securing education, training or employment opportunities to ensure economic well being
• Assistance in accessing external agencies/resources including advice on housing, drugs, relationships and health
• Advice and support in staying safe and avoiding inappropriate and criminal behaviour
• Support in securing appropriate long term accommodation, beyond Optionz
• Encouragement in developing a hobby or interest and making a positive contribution to the wider community
• Opportunities for young people to acquire the necessary skills to live independently, offering individual programmes and regular one to one key worker sessions
